Gold and metallics has been a huge trend, as seen on the fall runways of Nina Ricci, Badgley Mischka and Chanel. Now, the latter is bringing the gold influence from the runway to its make-up for its Autumn collection, Facettes D’Or. Gold has been increasingly popular in spa beauty too as we all know the ultra-luxurious gold facials right?Facettes D’Or features a range of pure gold shades mixed with traditional winter neutrals. The collection includes the Gold Fiction nail polish ($30), Gold Light Glossimer lip gloss ($26), a quad eye shadow palette with gold, coffee, ivory and dark green eye colors ($56) and my favorite, the limited addition Gold fever Highlighter which can be used all over your face ($56). You can apply a little on your cheeks like in the picture below, especially if you have a little tan, or you can apply it on your eyes for a little shimmery golden look.
For a more dramatic visage, you can even smack some golden tones on your lips for a night out! What is the most fabulous about the Facettes D’Or is that gold looks great on all skin types, from fair to darker. The inspiration for Facettes D’Or is of course Coco’s Paris apartment on 31 Rue Cambon, which has served as inspiration for many of the fashion house’s designs and products. Chanel’s apartment is the ultimate of luxury, passion and art and it is furnished with lots of golden accents, from where the inspiration for the Autumn make-up is drawn.
